SRC  Boy’s Hockey defeat New Hartford

On Friday, January 15, there was a very exciting game between the Salmon River Boys Hockey team and the N.Y. defending State Champs New Hartford.  The Shamrocks didn’t give up although they were trailing 2-0 at first.  Nick Smiddy got the puck going and forwarded the first goal with just a minute left in the period.  Stevie Ray Adams was the helper on that goal.  Two more goals were added from Blake Tarbell, Nolan Thomas and Stevie Ray, again.  The third successful shot  came from Oakley Thomas and was assisted by Jeremy Cole.  New Hartford tied it up with only a few moments remaining.  What a game!!  The goal tending by Matt Healey was spectacular, with such agility.  Chris George went ahead again as he received a pass from Eric Sisto. New Hartford gave it all they had to even it up again at 4.  A five minute overtime resulted for the 2 squads.  Clay Thomas and Oakley Thomas managed to get the eventual game winning shot to Derek Hopps to win the contest 5-4.
