Top 10 Actions That Will Stall Your Weight Loss Resolution

Most people are aware that a weight loss attempt does not always equal weight loss success. Losing weight is like any other recipe. You need all the ingredients present at the exact same time and within precise ratios to achieve the desired effect.

Think about weight loss success as being just like the parts of a car engine. When only one part is missing, the entire unit fails to function properly and in many cases one missing engine part will translate into a situation where the engine does not run at all. Getting your weight loss “ingredients” exact is the key to your weight loss success in the New Year. The top 10 actions that will stall your weight loss attempts are as follows.

#10…a lack of sleep. Sleep debt and stalled weight loss are directly related. This includes any activity where you are up beyond 10:30 at night. The World Health Organization has already declared shift work a potential carcinogen for its’ ability to disturb the natural healing cycles of the body.

#9….the consumption of foods high in sugar or foods that act like sugar in the bloodstream. Nothing gets weight loss stalled or fat gain initiated more rapidly than foods that spike blood sugar. There is no government or medical source of information available that educates in a complete way regarding this highly dangerous food category. Unfortunately there are also many chemicals that also spike blood sugar by eliciting an internal release of sugar from the liver. Independent research is absolutely necessary in this area if weight loss success is the goal. Dr. Mark Hyman’s book “Ultra Metabolism” or Paul Chek’s book “How to Eat, Move and Be Healthy” are both highly effective at teaching the basics of healthy living as is Dr. Sinatra’s book “Sugar Shock”:. Observational evidence points that it takes about 6 weeks for the negative effects of unhealthy processed foods to subside. This means that if optimal weight loss and health results are desired someone will need to apply the principles in these books for approximately 6 weeks (consecutively) before optimal results will present themselves.

#8…..over exercising. All items on this list will relate directly to stress. The more someone is stressed the less weight they will lose because all stress initiates the production of fat storing hormones, regardless of source. Over exercising is also a huge stressor, so it can also make you gain additional fat and water stores. The awesome benefits exercise is famous for are only possible when the body recovers from the exercise stress. That recovery is based on proper rest. If someone leads a hectic lifestyle their ability to recover from any stress is extremely limited and therefore the less exercise stress they should expose themselves to. Anaerobic exercise provides the best fat burning results. Avoid long walks and jogging if your goal is weight loss. Do walk or jog if you just want to get out and have some fun but do not expect weight stability from it. For more information on anaerobic exercise please search Dr. Al Sears’ “Pace Program” or Craig Ballantyne’s “Tuberlence Training”.

Most fitness clubs, personal training studios and personal trainers in the area are skilled at reading a client’s initial stress level and tabling the proper amounts of anaerobic exercise to ensure maximum results in a minimum amount of time.

Over the next couple of weeks I will get through the rest of this list. If you have any questions you can e-mail me personally at [email protected] For more information that will make you lose weight you can register for my free health blog at http://whathappenedtohealth.blogspot.com/.
