How To Keep Your Weight Stable During The Holidays

During the holidays it is sometimes hard not to have a couple of drinks and then over indulge in some of those holiday treats. Although weight gain cannot be completely avoided after the ingestion of processed foods and alcohol, there are some little tricks that can minimize the damage.

One strategy would be to keep well hydrated. Drink half your body weight in ounces of clean spring water daily. Try to consume the water in-between meals, as excess liquid consumption during meals can disrupt proper digestion. This can lead to a host of seemingly unrelated dysfunctions. (parasite infections, fatigue, weight gain, depression, insomnia etc)

  Avoid tap water because the added chlorine is a chemical compound that obviously has a “drying effect” on all that it comes into contact with. Chlorine is also highly correlated to many digestive orders and many other diseases because of its’ anti bacterial properties. It has been recently discovered that humans are close to 90% bacteria; so consuming anything that kills bacteria (even antibiotics) always ends with the body running worse in the long run. This is why people who rely on antibiotics keep acquiring consecutive infections, over shorter and shorter time spans.

The added fluoride in tap water has also been linked to everything from kidney stress to thyroid malfunction. See Christopher Byrson’s book “The Flouride Deception” for more on that topic. So the general idea is to drink clean spring water and to not pollute your local water source.

Ample hydration can keep your blood thin and therefore reduce the chances of clotting. A blood stream that is low in water can increase the chances of heart attack and stroke. The holiday season is the time when most heart attacks occur. Although not the only reason, eating improperly and dehydration are linked to the increase in heart attacks during the holiday season.

Proper hydration levels can aid the body in removing toxins, as toxicity is directly related to weight gain. The more toxins in a person’s metabolism the more likely the body will add body fat and water weight to dilute the toxic load. Toxic based weight gain is simply one of the body’s many survival based miracles in action.

Adequate hydration levels also ensure water is not scavenged out of the colon, to lend to other parts of the body that are low on water. It is hard to believe that the body can extract useable water from where you hold your fecal material but it can.  

If hydration levels are low and water is stolen from the colon, the body can become constipated. Older fecal material rots just like the garbage in your kitchen if you do not take it out. If you do not have regular bowel movements the sheer volume of the extra material can increase your weight, cause the lower abdominal to bulge and can also increase fat storing hormones via the stress response. The rotting fecal material can become stressful on the body’s entire metabolic system. All stress causes an increase in fat storing and water retaining hormones plus a decrease in fat burning hormones. In short, low water levels in the body leads to fat gain. 

This year try and keep the weight gain to a minimum by maintaining proper hydration at all times. A lack of water will not only cause you to gain weight but it can act as the genesis for many seemingly unrelated diseases.
