A Voice from the Eastern Door
Akwesasne Jr. B Wolves faced off with the Char-lan Rebels at the A’nowara’ko:wa Arena in Kawehno:ke (Cornwall Island) Nov. 8. The Wolves were leading the first half 3:2, but tied 3:3 in the last period and lost 3:4 in overtime. It was another close loss for the Wolves who have yet to win a game since the season started in Oct.
The Wolves have been described as a young team, with a majority of new players getting used to the league and learning to play with each other as a team.
“Even though record doesn’t show it we are a good team,” said Assistant Coach Aronhiaies Herne at the Nov. 8 game, “We are building a foundation for the club and hockey in Akwesasne.”
Although they have won no games, they have shown dedication and persistence in many ties and overtime losses which promises a win soon. The next home game will be on Nov. 14, 7:15pm start time against Morrisburg at A’nowara’ko:wa Arena on Kawehno:ke (Cornwall Island).
