AMBE Head Start students meet monthly reading goal

The Head Start program of the Ahkwesahsne Mohawk Board of Education has promoted family literacy by setting themselves a reading goal of 20 books per child each month this year. The students at AMS have agreed to have their parents, totas, aunts or uncles read to them at least 20 times a month, that averages to about a storybook every weeknight. The Head Start class read a combined total of 153 books in October. Congratulations to the students who achieved their goal of 20 books for the month of October. They are Kayah Papineau, Karennahawi Barnes, Keegan Delormier and Evin Smart. Congratulations also to all the other children who read books in October.
