Massena Little League Champs… North Country Savings Bank

The championship play-off game between Ice Hawks and North Country Savings Bank took place on Tuesday evening June 30th.  Two Massena Little League teams, each determined to win, showed all the fans what they had and had a great time doing it.  This game was awesome and was the best to be seen in a long time.

The playoffs came down to two teams this week, NC Savings Bank had a record of 14-5 and Ice Hawks had been undefeated in two seasons up until Monday.  On Monday, Ice Hawks received their first loss in 2 years on a score of 12-8 (?) to North Country Savings Bank.  In the play offs, each team had to lose twice, so that meant that these 2 teams would go at it again. The final game was played on the following night on the field on Main St..  In two additional innings with a tied game, the NC Savings Bank came out on top with a score of 11-10.

Going into the second game, some of the boys felt their chances were low to win over the Ice Hawks but see, you never know, you each played your game and did your job and pulled it off.

Some felt happy enough that they defeated Ice Hawks even once on Monday.

If anyone wants to see young talent, check out these games in the coming seasons in Massena. The volunteerism by the coaches is so nice to see as well as all the support given to these teams by families. The majority of the players are from Massena and a few from Ahkwesahsne.  On the North Country Savings Bank is Blake Lazore and on the Ice Hawks is Turner Thomas and Evan George.

Congratulations to all the players of North Country Savings Bank
