Katherine (Gushlaw) Rowe

Katherine (Gushlaw) Rowe, age 79, of Lemoyne Ave. in the Town of Salina, Syracuse, NY, died Friday at St. Joseph’s Health Care Ctr. A native of the St. Regis Mohawk Nation, she was a daughter of the Late Peter & Louise Johnson.

Katherine retired in 1980 after 30 years as a Machine Operator at Prestolite in Syracuse, and most recently as a cashier at Big Lots in Mattydale. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliaries of the American Legion Post #1832 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #3146, both in Mattydale, and a member of the United Auto Workers Union. She was an avid Bingo Player and loved Line Dancing.

She was predeceased by her first husband Beltrum Gushlaw in 1984 and a daughter Lori “Tiny” Pouliot in 2005 and a Great-grandson Austin Gushlaw in 2000. She is survived by her husband and long time companion Donald Rowe, a daughter Kathy (Les) Fletcher of Liverpool, two sons Beltrum Gushlaw of E. Syracuse, Randy Gushlaw of Fulton, a brother Joseph Johnson of St. Regis, Quebec, eight grandchildren Christopher, Michael, Jennifer, Jonathan, Kelly, Kori, Danielle, Jerome, four great grandchildren Shania, Michael, Caden, Nicholas (arriving in August).

Friends called Wednesday at the Krueger Funeral Home Inc., 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale followed by a funeral services at 7pm. Funeral arrangement under the care of Krueger Funeral Home Inc.,
