Mohawk Council of Akwesasne has announced a General Election will be held in June of 2009.
Nominations will be held on Saturday May 16, 2009
Advance Polls will be held on Saturday June 13th and also on Wednesday June 24th, 2009.
General Election will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2009.
Voter’s Lists have been posted in the following locations:
Kanatakon: Post office; Butters Quickstep; and Tickets Store.
Kawehno:ke: Bank of Montreal; Jock’s Store; and Garnie’s Store
Tsi Snaihne: Hum’s Store; Mitchell’s Store; and OK Den.
Please check the Voter’s List to verify that your name appears on the list. If your name is not on the list and you wish to vote in the General Election, please contact Leona Benedict, the Chief Electoral Officer at the Akwesasne Justice Department to apply.
