This is to inform the community that the following persons have applied for Membership under the Akwesasne Membership Code:
Kahentineson Skidders, age 17, daughter of Ralph Skidders (Akwesasne) and Stacy Huff (Moravians of the Thames);
Christine Ashley Sunday, age 17, daughter of Peter Sunday (Akwesasne) and Nancy Blanchet Sunday, a non-native;
Chelsey Elizabeth Thompson, age 17, daughter of Mary Thompson (Akwesasne) and Eric Stiles, a non-native;
Samantha Lynn Thompson, age 19, daughter of Elaine Thompson (Akwesasne) and Patrick Burelle, a non-native.
Community members have until Tuesday, April 14, 2009 to indicate whether they wish to make submissions regarding the above applicants.
At the Membership Board’s January and February meetings, the Board approved full membership for Kyle Roundpoint-Douglas and Probationary Membership to April Burns. At the March meeting the Board approved a Residency Permit for one year for Bernard Koostachin and Probationary Membership to Windy Sabourin.
Any member of the community can protest the Membership Board’s decisions, a notice of protest must be directed to the Council of Elders within 30 days.
On February 2, 2009 the Council of Elders granted the appeal for Deylin Timmons and approved her application for Probationary Membership.
