A Voice from the Eastern Door
The Caught You Caring program at Ahkwesahsne Mohawk School is an ongoing activity that looks to recognize students who are performing random acts of kindness for those around them. The idea is to help make students aware of the fact that they are not alone and that in our society we need to consider the feelings and needs of others around us.
The acts of kindness can be anything from holding a door open, cleaning up someone else’s mess, helping to tie a younger student’s shoes to helping another student catch up on notes and homework. When staff notice an act of kindness the students are issued a “Caught you Caring” ticket that they drop off at the office to be entered in a draw. These well deserving happy students are some of the prize winners for this month’s draw: Devon Point, Kienon Lafrance, Cecelia Liscumb, Korbin Lazore, Stance Oakes, Kiana McDonald Lazore, Karakwakta Thompson, Madison Delormier, Konwanonti:io Lazore and Cameron Roundpoint.
Congratulations to the prize winners and to everyone else who earned a Caught You Caring ticket.
