The Ahkwesahsne Mohawk School held its Second Annual Talent Show on the 30th of January. Once again, this year proved to be another success for our students to show their talents. We had a comedy dance act, a traditional dancer, some solo singing acts, group singers, and a drumming act.
It is amazing to see the self-confidence and pride that our students have. Getting up on stage in front of a hundred or more people is not an easy thing to do and these students should be applauded for not just their talents but their courage.
The judges of the talent show were members of the AMS Student Council. The winners were chosen based on ability, as well as crowd appeal, making the judging very difficult. First Place went to the dance group “Evolution Girls” who were: Jessica Francis, Myeesha Ransom Jacobs, Kyla Thompson, Brooke Francis and Montana Adams. Second Place went to traditional dancer Kaiahtenhtas Thompson and Third Place went to dancer Dallas Thompson.
Congratulations to all participants, you put on a great performance!
