Kahawis Lazore, a student at Tsi Snaihne School, made her school and family proud last week when artwork she had created was selected as one of fifty-two runners up in a Canada-wide search for Native youth art.
The Young Native Artist Calendar is an annual calendar that uses artwork submitted by Native children.
Lazore received a letter of recognition from the Young Native Artists Calendar Project Committee.
“We would like to say Meegwetch, Nyeweh and thank-you for participating in this project. To recognize your efforts, we would like to present you with this Young Native Artists knapsack. Your artwork shows wonderful use of color and design.”
