A Voice from the Eastern Door

Poetry

39 YEARS

39 YEARS

By Jessica Garrow

Just another day to me.

Of you, I no longer see.

Your face fades.

Of this I do evade.

Gone so long.

I still go on.

How long will this be?

My grief always hidden.

Is it forbidden?

Gone too quickly.

Is that my pay?

Days forgotten.

Seems like yesterday.

I trudge on this worn out path.

Till we meet again.

My destiny fulfilled.

Love, First Daughter.

Jessica
