A Voice from the Eastern Door
Cornwall Community Hospital Doctors and staff wish to thank donors who gave to the Palliative Care Unit. Their generosity has funded updates to Palliative Care rooms making a huge difference to patients and their families.
Seven rooms were recently supplied with new bedside tables, over bed tables and chairs for a total of $18,830.67. Special dual-purpose blinds to control privacy/visibility and light will arrive soon to complete the soft look given to these very special quarters. Costs of the new environmentally friendly furniture were kept to a minimum due to the number of pieces ordered. The hospital has provided new floors, wall repairs and painting to finish the project and colors have been coordinated with those selected for the upcoming redevelopment project to ensure continuity throughout the hospital.
Martha Richards, Director, Medicine Services said “We really appreciate these donations. They have made a significant difference in the appearance and functioning of the rooms and it is a pleasure to be able to offer patients and their families additional comfort. Your donations make a huge difference to many, many people. Every dollar counts and no donation is too small when caring for Palliative patients.”
