A Voice from the Eastern Door
Akwesasne Child and Family Services organized events this past week to celebrate Canada’s National Child’s Day.
On November 20th of every year, Canada and other countries around the world use the day to draw awareness to various child-related issues, and to also give children a day just for them.
The ACFS logo reads that the day is “Recognizing that children are important and valued members of our community who we must protect, nurture, and guide through the journey of life.”
ACFS hosted a free Rock N Skate event on Saturday, Nov. 22 to officially celebrate National Child’s Day.
Free food and fun games and prizes were held, and music was played in the arena while children and their family members skated at their leisure.
