Elizabeth “Liz” Terrance, 63 of 19 Terrance Road, Hogansburg, died Sunday morning Nov. 16, 2008 at the home of her sister Maggie. She had been in failing health since July.
She was born June 4, 1945 in Malone, the daughter of Eugene and Margaret (Jacobs) Terrance. She graduated from Salmon River High School in 1966, Matre Dei (Hogansburg Campus) and attended a business school in Watertown. She worked as an accounting clerk in the business office at Sibleys in Rochester, a cashier in the gift shop at Bears Den for 25 years in Hogansburg and also was Home Health Aide for North Country Home Care Services.
She was Sunday school teacher at the Hogansburg Methodist Church for many years and served on the church board. Liz enjoyed arts, crafts and making dolls, was an artist (drawing and pencil charcoal), enjoyed bingo, her grandchildren, and watching old movies. Her favorite season was Christmas. She was a member of the Hogansburg Methodist Church.
She is survived by her daughter and companion, Lesa Terrance and Alfred Jackson, Hogansburg, by 3 grandchildren Tori, Alfred “A.J.” and Joran Terrance Jackson, by 4 sisters Agnes, Margaret “Maggie”, Linda and Mary Ann Terrance, Hogansburg, by 2 brothers Gilbert J. and Karen Ann Terrance, Hogansburg; James J. and Sandy Terrance, Hogansburg and by nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by 1 sister and 3 brothers, Carol A. Herne August 8, 2007, Russell October 14, 1973, Paul C. February 22, 1996 and Eugene Terrance Jr. July 24, 2007.
Friends may call at the home of her brother and sister-in-law James and Sandy Terrance on the McGee Road, starting Tuesday evening until the time of the funeral services. The funeral will be held Thursday at 11:00 am at the Hogansburg Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Methodist Cemetery.
