A Voice from the Eastern Door
Lauren Adams of Akwesasne was recently awarded a Scholarship towards completing her four-year baccalaureate degree to attend Clarkson University in Canton, NY.
On October 10, 2008, during a ceremony at the National Museum of the American Indian in Washington, D.C., the Accenture Awards Scholarships was given to eleven exceptional American Indian and Alaska Native Students seeking degrees and careers in technology, professional and business fields.
“This year’s candidate pool was extremely impressive and filled with deserving students.” said Randy Willis, senior executive sponsor of Accenture’s American Indian employee resource group. “Our review process identified our eleven final candidates as exceptional men and women with a strong ability to represent-and give back to-the American Indian community. We are honored to assist them.”
Lauren is the daughter of Peter and Darlene Adams of Akwesasne. She is the granddaughter of George Adams and Nancy Phillips, and Pauline Boots and the late Jonas Boots.
Congratulations, Lauren.
