Tribe prepares park for winter Playground to Remain Open

Akwesasne Territory— The St. Regis Mohawk Tribe’s maintenance crew will begin preparing the new recreation field and play area for winter.  On Monday October 27th, the bathrooms will be winterized and the solar panels removed in preparation for the upcoming cold weather.  They will then be closed for the winter.  The athletic fields will also undergo maintenance to prepare them for the winter season and closed until spring.

The playground portion of the park and pavilion will remain open for kids and families to continue to enjoy.  The bathrooms and athletic fields will re-open in the spring as soon as the weather permits.  The park has enjoyed great popularity and a high level of usage since it opened two months ago.
