Notice to the Community

This is to inform the community that the following persons have applied for Akwesasne Membership and/or Residency Permits.

Starr Louise Hill, age 18, daughter of Chanin Summers (Oneida of the Thames) and Craig Hill (Six Nations).

Kastin Mathew Millett, age 16, is the son of Lucille Lazore (Akwesasne) and Kevin Millet, a non-member.

Caleigh Angus Tarbell, age 18, is the son of Lisa Beth Tarbell (Akwesasne).

Stephanie Alisa Delormier, age 16, daughter of Craig Delormier (Akwesasne) and Tammy Delormier, a non-native.

Jade Rene Benedict-Bough, age 17, daughter of Tess Benedict (Akwesasne) and Carey Bough, a non-native.

Kateri Marie Jacobs, age 17, daughter of Louis A. Jacobs (Akwesasne) and Melanie Flynn, a non-native.

Leighann Marie Neff, age 27, daughter of Everett Cook (Akwesasne) and Stacey Huff (Moravians of the Thames) has completed her probationary period and is now applying to the Board for approval of full Akwesasne Membership. She is also applying for a Residency Permit.

Community members have until Friday, October 31 to indicate whether they wish to make submissions regarding the above applicants.

At the Membership Board’s September 13 meeting, the Board approved full Membership to Sarah Cook and probationary membership for Lindley Cook and denied the applications for Deylin Timmons and Steven Deroucher. On September 17 the Board granted Probationary Membership to Javan Cook. At a Membership Board Hearing held on September 17, 2008, the Board determined that Wendy Sunday successfully completed her Probationary Period and granted her full Akwesasne Membership.

Any member of the community can protest the Membership Board’s decision, a notice of protest must be directed to the Council of Elders within 30 days.
