Local schools to celebrate Red Ribbon Week October 27th -31st

The SRMT Alcoholism Chemical Dependency Prevention Program would like to announce the upcoming events for the annual celebration of the National Red Ribbon Week October 27th – 31st.

Salmon River Central School students and St. Regis Mohawk School students along with communities across the nation will be celebrating this week by affirming our commitment to drug prevention and education.

Please join us this week to encourage positive choices, healthy, drug-free, and violence free lifestyles.

The following is the agenda for Salmon River District Red Ribbon Week Celebration week of October 27-31:

October 27, 2008 – Outrageous Red Day, everyone is encouraged to wear red to symbolize Red Ribbon Week.

October 28, 2008 -- Crazy Hat Day, Use your head: Be drug free, everyone is asked to wear crazy hats.

October 29, 2008 – Jersey Day, Team up against drugs, Show your team spirit and wear your favorite team jersey to school.

October 30, 2008 -- Mismatch day, “Drugs and kids don’t mix” wear mismatched clothes.

October 31, 2008 – Boo to Drugs, “Drugs are scary”. Wear your Halloween costume (Salmon River- Seniors Only, Mohawk School- all Students).

This is a great opportunity for all of us to send a clear message that drugs damages lives--- whether it’s through loss of productivity, unfulfilled dreams, drugged driving incidents, or addiction. We are also asking you take time to talk with your families, neighbors and coworkers about spreading the message of hope of building a healthier community.
