Community Announcement

The Animal Control Office of the St. Regis Mohawk Tribe has received numerous complaints regarding free roaming dogs in the community. We would like to remind everyone that school is back in session and our main concern is the safety of our children who must walk to bus stops or wait at the roadside for buses to come. It is the responsibility of the pet owner to ensure that the animals are restrained to the owner’s property and not a nuisance to community members. Please help us control the animal problem in Akwesasne and leash, tie or fence-in your animals today.
