Cory J. Herne

Cory J. “Kermit” Herne, age 23, of Akwesasne, died very unexpectedly Thursday (August 7, 2008) at his mother’s home in Cornwall.

He was born January 19, 1985 in Cornwall, the son Joseph M. Herne and Lynn K. Montour. He attended schools in Massena and later received his GED. He enjoyed being with his friends and fishing.

Cory is survived by his 2 sons, Kaleb, age 5 and Kohl, age 2 months, both at home; by his father, Joseph Herne and his companion, Bulla Lazore, Akwesasne; his mother, Lynn Montour, Cornwall; by 3 sisters, Heather Herne, Akwesasne; Amanda Herne and her companion, Kyle Benedict, Akwesasne; Kalli David, Akwesasne; by 2 brothers, Keith Herne, Akwesasne; Sean David, Akwesasne; his paternal grandparents, Vernie and Toni Herne, Akwesasne; his maternal grandmother, Sandra Jacobs, Akwesasne; his maternal grandfather, Kakwirakeron Montour, Akwesasne; by 3 nieces, Kloey, Emberly, and Bridget Herne and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Friends called at the home of his father, 195 Cook Road, Akwesasne, until the time of funeral services on Monday, August 11, 2008, with Francis Boots speaking. Cremation followed. Arrangements are with the Donaldson Funeral Home, Massena.
