Racing during the month of July at Mohawk International Raceway will feature two big events at the “Best Kept Secret on DIRT” plus other weekly events with a little something special for everyone.
Big Boys Enterprises of Akwesasne will kick off the month on Saturday night July 5th with a full card of racing featuring the Coors Light DIRTcar 358 Modifieds in the 2nd running of the Big Boys 25 that will feature a $1000.00 first prize. Just before the main event there will be a Modified autograph session trackside so the fans can go down on the track and get autographs, take pictures and talk with their favorite driver. Also on the card will be a full slate of Action Race Parts UMP/DIRT Pro Stocks, Pecore Performance and Transmissions Semi Pros, Helm Salvage and Trucking Bandits and Bash Brothers Motorsports Enduros.
On Saturday night July 12th, Pecore Performance and Transmissions along with Leahy Motorsports will sponsor a full card of racing that will also feature an autograph session as well trackside, this time for the Semi Pro division sponsored by none other than Pecore Performance & Transmissions. The main event of the evening will feature the Coors Light DIRTcar 358 Modifieds in the 2nd running of the Pecore Performance and Transmissions/Leahy Motorsports 25 paying $1000.00 to the winner of the event. A full card of racing will also be featured along with a 20 lap Slic Track Bash Brothers Motorsports Enduro special paying $100.00 to the winner.
On Saturday night July 19th, the Mohawk Racing Parts UMP/DIRT Pro Stock Series featuring drivers and cars from Autodrome Edelweiss, Autodrome Drummond, Cornwall Motor Speedway and of course Mohawk International Raceway. This event truly has the cream of the crop in Pro Stock racing on the circuit competing and will be an event you won’t want to miss with such stars as Joey Ladouceur, Ghislain Valade, Giles Goddard, P.J. Peters, Bruno Cyr and many more including Mohawk International Raceway regulars Jody Swamp, Stephen Lebrun, Louie “Action” Jackson, Ricky Thompson, Allen Peters, Billy Woodward Jr., Travis Back, Russ Schroth and many, many more. Also on this great card the Run-What-You-Brung Modified Challenge that will feature dirt modifieds at their wildest in an all out battle for 25 laps. Big Block, Small Block, Winged Modifieds, sail panels, you name it they will probably have it as this popular event returns to the speedway for the first time since 1995. The Semi Pros, Bandits and Enduros are also on this card.
On Saturday night July 26th, it’s a full card of racing in all classes sponsored by Snap-On-Tools and Dyke’s Engineering and a Bandit Powder Puff for the ladies. The main event of the evening will feature the Coors Light DIRTcar 358 Modifieds in the 3rd running of the Snap-On-Tools/Dyke’s Engineering 25 paying a cool $1000.00 to the winner.
The month of July raps up with a big one! On Thursday night July 31st, Chiefs Tobacco presents the 2nd running of the Mohawk Nations Challenge Cup and the third leg of the Lucas Oil Challenge Series for the Coors Light DIRTcar 358 Modifieds. This event will draw cars from all over Eastern Ontario, Quebec, Northern New York and New England and is sure to be the best race of the season. Dale Planck of Homer, NY is the defending champion and will have his work cut out for him in defending his title against some of the best DIRTcar small block runners on the circuit. Pit gates for this special event will open at 4:30pm with the main grandstand gates opening at 5:30pm. Time trials begin promptly at 6:30pm with the first heat set to begin at 7:00pm sharp. The Action Race Parts UMP/DIRT Pro Stocks and Pecore Performance and Transmissions Semi Pros will also be on the card. There will be no Bandit or Enduro racing on this card.
There will be no racing on Saturday night August 2nd as the DIRTcar 358 Modifieds will be at Brockville Ontario Speedway for the Lucas Oil Series and the UMP/DIRT Pro Stocks will be at Genesee Speedway in Western N.Y. for a series race.
All races in the month of July with the exception of the July 31st race will follow the usual schedule of pit gates opening at 5:00pm, main grandstand gates opening at 6:00pm and the first race getting underway at 7:00pm sharp.
