A Voice from the Eastern Door
The Akwesasne Storm Peanuts lacrosse players entertained a crowded house at the A’nowara’kowa Arena Sunday afternoon. The team of 5-7 year-olds took to the floor during the intermission of the St. Regis Indians game.
Fans who normally use intermissions to step outside or wait in line at the concession stand stayed in their seats to watch the youngest generation of lacrosse players handle their sticks and partake in the game of lacrosse.
The team was split into two for the scrimmage and the players impressed fans with their knowledge of the game’s rules and purpose. Fans especially enjoyed a few breakaways, a couple of goals, and a few great saves from the goalies.
