Girl, 6, fatally hit by car in Snye

A six-year-old girl from Tsi Snaihne (Snye) was tragically killed Saturday afternoon (June 7) when she was hit by a car.

Kyleigh McDonald, the daughter of Julie (Skidders) and Louie John McDonald, was taken by Mohawk Ambulance to a Cornwall hospital and pronounced dead shortly thereafter.

The tragic accident happened on River Road, near the girls’ home. Police said the victim had run across the road and was subsequently struck by a vehicle heading westbound.

The driver of the vehicle stopped and many neighbors and family members were at the scene immediately.

No charges have been filed and police are still investigating the accident.
