A Voice from the Eastern Door
A moderate to heavy rain throughout the morning hours flooded the pit area and parts of the track causing race officials to bow to Mother Nature’s fury this past Saturday night at the Mohawk International Raceway. “We know the sun came out but the damage had been done, so we decided to call it,” said track Promoter Jody Swamp, “there was a forecast for severe thunderstorms later in the day so the writing was on the wall.”
This Saturday night June 7th, the Empire Super Sprints come to town presenting some of the finest sprint car action in the country. The Coors Light DIRTcar 358 Modifieds will be in action along with the Action Race parts UMP/DIRT Pro Stocks. The Semi Pros, Bandits and Enduros will have the night off.
Pit gates will open at 4:30 p.m. on this special night. Main grandstand gates will open at 5:30 p.m. with the first race getting underway at 7:00 p.m. sharp. Fans may want to get to the speedway early to make sure they get a good seat for this special race card.
