Keegan’s Tobacco to sponsor dream card of racing at Mohawk International Raceway

Saturday night June 7th will be a night to remember as fans will finally get the “Dream Card” of racing that some have wanted to see for a long time at Mohawk International Raceway in Akwesasne. Racing officials are gearing up for one of the best race cards of the season featuring the winged warriors of the race track, the “Empire Super Sprints”, in the first of two appearances at the speedway in 2008.

The sprint cars are making their first appearance of the season a little earlier than usual. In the past, the popular sprint car organization has made an appearance in July for the annual event but by switching dates track officials have found that it looks like the field will be much larger with no other sprint car organizations scheduled on that evening. The “Empire Super Sprints” will have on hand many local and popular stars featured in the event including popular Brian “Slim” McDonald of Cornwall, Ontario and past Sprint Car Spectacular winner Jeff Cook of nearby Antwerp, NY and added to the roster in 2008 Alexandria, Ontario’s own Lee Ladouceur. Other notables will be Justin Barger, Lance Yonge, Steve Poirier, Bryan Howland, Alain Bergeron, Jeff VanDusen, Dan “Kaz” Kaszubinski, George Suprick and many more.

Also on this very special card for the first time will be the Coors Light DIRTcar 358 Modifieds in the 8th running of the Keegan’s Tobacco 25 with $1000.00 going to the winner. The Action Race Parts UMP/DIRT Pro Stocks will also be on the card that will feature the Keegan’s Tobacco 20 as their main event. The Semi Pros, Bandits and Enduros will have the night off.

Pit gates for this extra special card of racing open at a special time of 4:00pm, main grandstand will open early as well at 5:30pm, race time is set for 7:00pm sharp.
