A Voice from the Eastern Door

Cornwall Collegiate Vocational School Prom ‘08 “Belle Notte”

The senior class of Cornwall Collegiate Vocational High School gathered together on Saturday May 31 in the school auditorium to their evening prom theme, “Bella Notte!” meaning, Beautiful Night in Italian.

Female students dressed to the theme in black, silver, red and gold, with male students arriving in Italian style suits and top hats. Long stretched limousines arrived in front of the school, dropping off the glamorous girls with their escorted dates. It was so nice to see all our AMBE senior graduates arriving together and posing for photos. As students made their way into the school entrance, they were greeted by school staff. Guidance Counselor, Marie Schuler and Prom Committee Members with hired professional photographers set up for prom photo shots in the school foyer.

Students entered a well-decorated room that was set to a theme of strolling along a soft-lighted Italian park. A working water foundation flowing with water, dressed bistro tables, grapevine streamers and moving pillars on the dance floor set the mood for dancing to DJ Johnny Be Good, educational assistant Johnny Barr.

Students were treated to the professional catering of Chef John Caimpaglia, culinary arts teacher and students, who served up healthy appetizers, cheese and fruit platters, homemade pizza, and assorted desserts rounded off the bon appetite menu.

Well done AMBE graduate students and guests who made the evening fun and enjoyable, chaperone’s Clarissa Jacobs and Sandra Rourke.
