2008 Salmon River Central Hall of Fame

John Mulvana - Athlete SRCS Class of 1957

Saturday, June 7th.

The SR Hall of Fame Committee is preparing for the 2008 Induction Ceremony on June 7, 2008.  There are a total of 4 teams and 6 individuals and one posthumous award to be given on that evening.  In the Salmon River High School, so many talented athletes have passed through these doors and shared their athletic skills.

There is no charge to attend the induction ceremony following the dinner.

• John held many Salmon River school records in basketball at the time of his graduation. He tallied 1011 points in his high school basketball career, obtained the highest score (440 pts.) in a season, had the highest average (22 points) in a single season, made the most foul shots (82) in a single season, and held the individual scoring in a single game record (32 points against Parishville).

• John’s team held the record for the highest team score tallying 106 points against Parishville.

• John was the first SRCS athlete to receive the All-Star Pin in basketball all four years of high school.

• John was one of the most physically gifted point guards and over powering pitchers that Salmon River has had. As a quarterback, he developed into the sharpest passer ever seen at Salmon River. John’s greatest strength was his knowledge and understanding of the games he loved. He used strategy as well as his physical prowess to dominate the hardwood and the mound.
