This is to inform the community that the following persons have been Probationary Members and the Membership Board is now considering granting them full Akwesasne Membership:
Teri-Lynn Leroux, age 24, and Tina Louise Nuttall age 26, are the daughters of Cecelia (Thompson) Leroux of Akwesasne and Daniel Leroux, a non-native.
Jodanna Logan, age 28, is the daughter of June Jackson, of Akwesasne and Alfred Logan of Six Nations.
Kristy Lauzon, age 32, the daughter of Mona Lee (Oakes) Lauzon of Akwesasne and Carl Lauzon, a non-native.
Lance Martin, age 38, the son of Richard Martin and Carol (Smith) Martin of Akwesasne.
Lynn Montour, age 41, daughter of Arthur Montour and Sandra Jacobs, of Kahnawake.
Tanya Lazore, age 35, the daughter of Shirley Seymour of Akwesasne and Ronald Farnham of Six Nations.
Wendy Sunday, age 36, daughter of Mary (King) Mattice of Akwesasne and Thomas Mattice a non-native.
John Johnson, age 45, son of Ernest and Margaret Johnson of Kahnawake.
John Wheelock, age 46, son of Esther (Loran) Wheelock of Akwesasne and Glen Wheelock, a non-native
The following persons have applied for permission to reside in the community:
Stacy Huff, age 44, the daughter of Verna Montour, Seneca and William Huff, Delaware/Moravians of the Thames.
Bernard Koostachin, age 43, son of Gregory and Mary Koostachin of Attawapiskat
Teiosakentison Elijah, age 24, daughter of Angela (Swamp) and Alec Elijah of Oneida Nation of the Thames.
Linda Tremblay, age 40, daughter of Marilyn Simpson of Kahnawake and Robert Tremblay.
Community members have until Friday, May 9, 2008 to indicate whether they wish to make submissions regarding the above applicants.
At the Membership Board’s April 12 meeting, the Board approved the applications of Rohontsiostha and Raweriio Barriero and approved a Residency Permit for Donald Murdock.
Any member of the community can protest the Membership Board’s decision, a notice of protest must be directed to the Council of Elders within 30 days.
