Motor Vehicle Collision

On Saturday April 12th, 2008 at 9:51 am, the Akwesasne Mohawk Police Service responded to a call of a two vehicle collision on Island Road East, near Ecko Hawk Properties. One driver was ejected from a vehicle, and transported to Cornwall Community Hospital Hotel Dieu site. The other driver did not sustain any injuries. Mohawk Police will be continuing the investigation into the cause of the accident.

Possession of Controlled Substance

On Monday April 14th, 2008, the Akwesasne Mohawk Police received a phone call of a possible break and enter. The suspect was a male youth, who had fled the scene prior to Police arrival. The youth was located a short time later, and was subsequently arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance. The youth was turned over to Akwesasne Child and Family Services. The investigation into the Break and Enter will continue.

Damage to Property

On Monday April 14th, 2008, at 10:30 am, the Akwesasne Mohawk Police Service responded to the Seaway Valley Bridge Toll Booth in regards to a youth that had damaged a vehicle’s rear window and escaped the custody of a Transport Unit from Montreal. The youth who cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, fled on foot westbound towards the Peacetree Mall. The youth was later located by the Akwesasne Mohawk Police Service and then turned over to Akwesasne Child and Family Services. A charge of Mischief Under $5,000 will be laid against the youth.

Break and Enter

On Monday April 14th, 2008 at 3:57 pm, the Akwesasne Mohawk Police Service received a phone call from a resident of Snye, Quebec that a Break and Enter occurred at their residence on 267 Wade Lafrance Memorial Road. Several televisions and a small computer were stolen of the complainant, and the residence ransacked.
