A Voice from the Eastern Door
If you ever watched the Massena Boys Hockey Team in action, you would agree that they are quite fast and full of talent. They will be competing at the NY State Play-offs in Utica this weekend for the crown of the Division 1 title. The game will take place on Saturday, March 8.
The Massena Raiders had beaten Mamaroneck near Long Island in an exciting overtime victory after #11 Matt Supernault scored at on 28 seconds into the game. The final score was 3-2.
When Massena plays, they are out to win in a fair and controlled way. In the last three games, their opponents have tried to take them “out”, but this is not Massena’s style. In the game against Potsdam, Captain Mike Mailhot received a couple of strong hits without retaliation. That game ended in a very convincing win for Massena 4-1.
Kyle Anderson turned away 16 shots while stand out Richard Bradshaw sent back 20.
Congratulations Raiders for your victory to claim the D-1 title and now your job is go into the semi finals and to continue on the road to once again earn the NY State Champs honor.
Good Luck to coaches Joe Phillips and Tim Hayes, and to the Massena team.
