Notice to the Community

This is to inform the community that the following persons have applied for Akwesasne Membership.

Steven Seymour, age 18, son of Tanya Lazore of Akwesasne and Cecil Barkley, a non-native.

Alyssa Printup, age 18, daughter of Carla Delorimiere of Akwesasne, and Adam Printup of Onondaga.

The following persons have applied for Akwesasne Membership and Residency Permits.

Konwahenhawi, age 19, daughter of Gilbert Terrance of Akwesasne and Stacy Huff, registered with the Moravians of the Thames Band, currently residing in Akwesasne.

Jessica Shenandoah, age 25, daughter of Donna Rockwell of Akwesasne and Tracy Shenandoah of Onondaga.

Community members have until Friday, March 7, 2008 to indicate whether they wish to make submissions regarding the above applicants.

At the Membership Board’s February 9 meeting, the Board approved full Membership for Lana Ivany, Juan Alvarez and Meshkweb Akiwenzie. The application for Michelle Thompson was denied.

Any member of the community can protest the Membership Board’s decision, a notice of protest must be directed to the Council of Elders within 30 days.
