A Voice from the Eastern Door

Book: Nights in Rodanthe

Author: Nicholas Sparks

Is it possible to fall in love in less then a week? Well if you are a little skeptical, once you read this book and witness the emotions that Nicholas Sparks bestows on you, you will think otherwise. He really is my favorite author.

Adrienne Willis has been divorced for a few months, as has Paul Flanner. When Paul comes to Rodanthe on business, he stays at the Bed & Breakfast that Adrienne is watching for a friend who is out of town. They connect almost instantly without realizing it or wanting to. They soon find they can tell each other things that they weren’t able to tell anyone else, and they soon fall in love. They both know that their time together is limited and Paul would be leaving and this thought haunts both their minds. As Paul promises to come back, they both know it won’t be for a long time and their hearts ache.

This book is so sweet; it will make you feel all warm and happy. I recommend it to adults as it is a romance novel. I loved this book and though it’s a short story and you don’t want it to end, you will be dying to know the ending. Most books by Sparks have this effect on you. This book is being made into a movie that will be released in the fall of 2008 starring Diane Lane and Richard Gere as the main characters.
