Akwesasne Mohawk School Student wins Racing Against Drugs 2008 Logo Contest

The Committee members for the Racing Against Drugs 2008 are pleased to announce that Dayna Green, a grade 6 student in Mrs. Lalonde’s class won the Logo Contest for the Akwesasne Racing Against Drugs 2008. Dayna Green described her logo and why she used certain pictures within it: “I used the Medicine Wheel and Turtle to represent all people on Mother Earth. The Hiawatha Belt represents all of the Six Nations People. My message was to live above the influence of drugs and alcohol and lead a strong, healthy lifestyle. Your friends might smoke pot and get drunk but you don’t have to smoke or drink with them to fit in. Your friend should like you just the way you are!”

Congratulations to Dayna for her exceptional and impressive, “It’s okay to be Drug free!” message to the community of Akwesasne. Dayna’s logo will be printed on the t-shirts for all students and volunteers taking part in the Akwesasne Racing Against Drugs 2008.
