Vampire Academy

This book gives you a whole new idea of vampires. The vampire myths you’ve heard have all been changed. New species of vampires are invented. Richelle Mead is really fun and original. I would read more books by this author

Rose Hathaway is a dhampir, a half-breed of human and vampire blood. Rose is Lissa’s best friend and protector, since Lissa is a Moroi princess and is wanted by the strogoi as one of their own. Strogoi are ruthless and strong vampires and they want Lissa. Rose and Lissa had run away from St. Vladimir’s School in order to escape them, but wherever they went, the strogoi knew where they were with their cunning ways. When the people of St. Vladimir’s School come to collect them before the strogoi do, they are brought back to the one place that they knew was not safe. After they return to the school Rose is shunned because she is believed to have kidnapped Lissa instead of saving her, and they find out that Rose let Lissa drink her blood to keep her alive. When a Moroi bites, it’s like an addicting drug to the human as well as the dhampir.

This is a really fun and sassy novel. I recommend it to the young adults, though I think that adults would enjoy reading it as well. Plenty of suspense and drama are in this book. It’s very enticing to read; I liked it and hope you like it as well.
