A Voice from the Eastern Door
For the second time in a month, a chart-topping country singer has added Akwesasne to their tour route and performed for a North Country crowd at the All-Inn Lounge. This weekend, Joe Diffie was in town, adding to the thirst for live entertainment growing in the area when first the Tragically Hip performed locally, followed by a Lorrie Morgan show last month.
Diffie is easily one of Nashville’s success stories, as his voice and talent sent songs like “If You Want Me To”, “Third Rock from the Sun” and “Pickup Man” to the top of country music charts. His success was primarily in the early 90s but he has continued to write music and record albums, much to the enjoyment of fans.
During a backstage meet & greet, Diffie was happy to sign autographs and pose for one photo after another with his local fans.
On stage he delivered a top rate country performance before retiring to his hard-to-miss tour bus parked out front.
The Joe Diffie concert was opened by up-and-coming artist Jerrod Neimann.
The All-Inn Lounge has not yet announced any future concert.
