A Voice from the Eastern Door
The Salmon River Central student athletes for the months of November and December have been chosen by their coaches. Each month a varsity boy and girl will be selected because they have exhibited sportsmanship and academic achievement during their varsity involvement. The students who have been chosen will be photographed and will be presented with a $25.00 gift voucher to Quiznos at IGA and they will also be presented with a certificate from the co-sponsor – the SRC Athletic Hall of Fame.

At the end of the year, at the swim team banquet, Lauren was named most valuable swimmer. She began swimming in 8th grade and has built herself up to be the swimmer she is. Besides swimming and all her other activities, she regards academics as very important. She is SRC’s senior class president and a member of the National Honor Society. For her overall swim record, for individual and relay records she has earned: 21 first place finishes (10 indiv. and 11 relay), 17 second place (9 indiv. and 8 relay), and three third place finishes (1 indiv. and 2 relay). December’s male athlete was nominated by his coach Joe Binion for the sport of basketball. Dan Gerow has been chosen for all his achievements playing his sport. It is nice to hear and share stories about the students through these awards.
The committee would like to have other Salmon River coaches nominate their athletes so they can be given the recognition they deserve. For each month, a male and a female will be presented with a certificate and a $25 voucher for Quiznos. Please submit your nominations to Bill Plante.
