Jacobs Tobacco customers take a “trip” around North America

For anyone who has been purchasing the Jacobs Tobacco-produced DIScount brand, Friday evening was filled with anticipation. The company held a customer appreciation day at the Brass Horse Restaurant and gave away a $2500 trip to one lucky customer and $100 cash prizes to several others.

The promotional event was the end to their “Where would you like to go?” campaign, which gave customers the hope of winning a vacation to anyplace in the continental U.S. At the event Friday, different areas were set up like a different vacation destination. In the Florida area, visitors could try for a hole-in-one or eat fruit. At the Mexican table, guests could munch on a number of south of the border treats or get a massage. Walking through the restaurant, visitors encountered a red carpet and “Walk of Fame” decorated with stars bearing local names. There was even a Marilyn Monroe sighting. At the Vegas table, a showgirl gave visitors a chance to gamble for a prize.

At the Nations table, participants of the Nations Next Top Model competition handed out freebies and served hash.

“The whole thing is thinking about where you would like to go,” said Laura Thompson of Jacobs Tobacoo.

The winner of the vacation was John Raleigh of Massena. Additionally, the store owner who sold the winning ballot was also given a prize of $500.
