  • North Franklin Shamrocks Take 2016-17 NYSAHA Tier III 12U Championship

    The North Franklin Shamrocks travelled to western New York a couple weekends ago and came home champions. They played teams from all over New York State at Amherst's North Town Center in Buffalo, NY. The tournament started on Friday, March 17, 2017 with the Shamrocks taking on Pelham and picking up the win, 3-1.     After a hard-fought battle against the Beekmantown Eagles that ended in double overtime, the Salmon River Shamrocks boys hockey season came an end just shy of the state Final Four.     After two games that were decided by a single goal, the Massena boys varsity hockey team will head to the state semi-finals. On Feb. 27, they defeated Canton 1-0 for their sixth consecutive Section 10 Division I title. The Daily Courier-Observer reported that Jack Loran scored the goal, despite it being credited to Logan Chilton. Nate Moffitt made 20 saves. On March 4, Massena downed LaSalle 2-1 at Massena Arena.
