    The North Franklin Shamrocks White and Green teams played in the North Country Little League Bangor Tournament Championship-12U Ray Russell Division recently and the Shamrock White team came out the champ. On the way to the final NF White played Cardinal Insurance and blanked them 7-0. A 6-2 loss to Kiwanis still earned them a #2 seed, and in the semifinal they met Cardinal Insurance and were victorious again with a score of 6-2.     The Akwesasne Attack lacrosse club brought their game to the Massena High School last weekend. A Playday was held and local clubs performed very well, winning and losing, but representing well our field lacrosse community. Teams came in from Potsdam, Canton, Ogdensburg, Plattsburgh, Tri-Lakes and host Massena.     The Massena varsity girl’s lacrosse team came to an end in regional finals on Saturday, June 3 in Ogdensburg. They played Section 4 champions Vestal and lost by a final tally of 15-2. Blayke Gibson and Abigail Johnson scored Massena’s goals, with Kyrsten Stone and Margaret Wilmshurst getting the assists. Gisele Todd backstopped for 15 saves.     Both the Massena varsity baseball and softball teams had their seasons ended in Section 10 title games against Malone by a single run. The softball team, playing Franklin Academy at SUNY Potsdam on Tuesday, May 23, fell behind 5-0 in the second inning but then answered with an 11-run rally.     The kids were getting geared up to carry on the Akwesasne vs. Kahnawake lacrosse rivalry and the latest clash was last weekend on Kawehnoke.     The 2017 Cornwall District Soccer league began last week. Both Akwesasne teams – the Lady Devils and Stars won their games – and both by the same 5-2 score. At Long Sault the Lady Devils, behind Iastha Porter's three goals, defeated McLeans Block. Jenna Prieur and Lady Devils' addition Karley Cree scored one each. At the American Legion in Hogansburg as part of the Memorial Day weekend festivities the teams held an exhibition game. And just as last summer, it was good times.     MASSENA -- In a tough game on Thursday, May 18, the St. Regis Braves dropped a 9-6 contest against the visiting Kahnawake Mohawks at Massena Arena.
