These are just stats on paper. The team effort showed every time our team stepped on the floor. The Mohawk Bears Den Medicine Men's inaugural season has come to an end. The First Nations Junior B Lacrosse League's newest team finished 2017 as runners up for the league title. The Seneca War Chiefs swept the team 3-0 in a best-of-three playoff series. The final bout was at the Medicine Men's home field, Massena Arena, on Saturday, July 22. The War Chiefs won 11-6. The 2017 FIL Rathbones Women's Lacrosse World Cup in Guildford, England, came to a close on Saturday, July 22. The Haudenosaunee Nationals ended with a count of 5 wins and 3 losses. The Snake Island Muskies dug a big hole for themselves and were unable to climb out of it. Last Wednesday, July 12 the visiting Ottawa Axemen took a big 5-0 first period lead and despite a three goal second period total the Muskies were unable to rally. Final score: 11-3. A large crowd of Akwesasne Junior "B" Indians fans made the trip last Sunday to watch their team win their fifth straight 2017 Ontario Lacrosse playoff game with a win over the Kahnawake Hunters. The Mohawk Medicine Men claimed a win in their first playoff matchup against the Onondaga Red Hawks in a best-of-three series. After a tight first period where only one goal was scored, the Akwesasne squadron pulled ahead 7-3 by the end of the second period and nearly doubled the effort in the closing frame for a 13-6 win.
