    Despite some big scoring chances that came in bunches, the Akwesasne Wolves Bantam hockey team came up short 2-0 last weekend at the Benson Center in Cornwall. The visiting Russell Coyotes scored the first period's only goal. Akwesasne came close to tying near the end of the period on Akenhi:io Lazore and Rayne Arenovich close calls.     The Massena Raiders boy’s varsity hockey team are making a run for the state title after beating Canton for Section 10 honors, and later downing Section 2 champs Bethlehem in state quarterfinals. Meanwhile, the Lady Raiders varsity basketball team lost their chance at the Section 10 overall title, but will still compete in state Class A playoffs.     Several local lacrosse players and supporters of our game were honored last weekend for their love and dedication to the game. At the ceremony held at Brass Horse eight players and builders were accepted into the Hall of Fame. The players were from the 1970's and 80's and played with or against each other.     Akwesasne representatives Lady Devils and Stars pulled off wins last weekend, but the Akwesasne Wolves' slide continued. Last Sunday in Cornwall, Kendall Horn of the Stars scored five goals including four straight second half goals in a 7-0 sweep of Elevation Fitness.     New home – same story. A perfect season. Last Sunday at the Benson Center in Cornwall the Wild's Jenna Merpaw scored four goals as they defeated the Russell Coyotes 5-2. The Anowarako:wa Arena is closed for the season and the Wild relocated to other venues for the year.
