By Andy Gardner Akwesasne's Bears Den Mohawk Medicine Men beat the Onondaga Red Hawks thanks to a clutch goal from Kenny Doan with less than four minutes left in the Saturday, June 18 tilt. The Medicine Men won 15-14 on their home turf at the St. Lawrence Centre Arena, avenging a 19-18 loss resulting from their first bout of the 2019 season in May. The only undefeated team in the Ontario Junior B loop had a relatively easy last few games of the regular season. Last Thursday, June 13 the Nepean Knights visited Kawehnoke and brought a fast, hard-hitting game but ended up going home with an 11-4 loss. By Derrick Lafrance Call it a tune up game for a big match on Thursday. Last Sunday the Akwesasne Jr. B Indians dismantled the Orillia Kings 19-1 at the Anowarako:wa Arena. Devon Buckshot led the scoring barrage with four and three assists, and hat tricks were put up by Keldren King, Treyton Mitchell and Sekawnee Baker. The Huskies defeated the Raiders for the banner on Saturday, June 1 at SUNY Potsdam. Malone scored three runs in the first inning. Massena defeated the Franklin Academy Huskies for their title. Pitcher David Dubray threw a two-hitter as they won 7-1. He struck out 10 batters and walked two. On Monday, May 27, the 'Rocks bested the St. Lawrence Central Larries for the sectional crown by a 16-11 final score. They started with both sides swapping early goals. On Tuesday, May 28, Salmon River won 9-8 over Canton. It is their first sectional title since 2015. While down 8-6, the Shamrocks scored three goals in the last five minutes of the second half. The diamonds at Snye Recreation and the American Legion are still too wet to play, so some of the games were moved. He participated in Athletics (Track and Field). This event was sponsored by the Ontario Special Olympics. He successfully won gold medals in the 100m, 400m, 4x100 relay, and shot put.
