The Akwesasne Eagles just completed their flag-football season. Made up of girls and boys to introduce them to football, but with a safety measure of it being touch free football. After watching a few games, the intent of flag football is 'touch free' or tackle free. But in the spirt of true football, the players sometimes become very involved in the game. Pittsford, NY – Kahontiio Lazore finished in the top 10 to lead the SUNY Canton men's golf team at the Nazareth Fall Invitational at Locust Hill Country Club on Monday. Lazore carded a round of 12 over par 84 to tie for ninth place out of 32 golfers. He went out in 41 before coming home in 43. The women's team won the bronze medal by beating Australia 21-4. Leading up to that, they had played Canada, Germany, Netherlands, Hong Kong, England and USA. The Akwesasne Eagles Flag Football team played under the lights on Friday, October 4 at Generations Park. The Eagles had a large crowd cheering on the Eagles. The team consist of young players aged 5- to 8-year-old girls and boys playing a non-contact version of football. It was a fast-paced game for Akwesasne and the visiting Malone team. The game went into overtime after tying 21 to 21. The Eagles gained the ball and took it to the goal line with teamwork, running fast and just being so cool....

In mid-August, the Akwesasne Storm Boys Minor Lacrossee and the Akwesasne Storm Girls Minor Lacrosse headed to the Whitby, ON area for the 2024 Ontario Provincial Lacrosse games. As the Akwesasne Storm Minor Lacrosse season closes, several divisions came out on top. Zone 5 – U11 finished first in their division. The Under 13 Storm Womens Team also earned Zone 5 Champs. AKWESASNE – The Snake Island Muskies are leading the Three Nations Senior Lacrosse League with three consecutive wins and no losses. Their third game of the season played Saturday, June 8, saw the Muskies host the Kahnawake Mohawks. The Mohawks, who played without any of their import carded players, got off to what looked to be a good start scoring the first goal. The Muskies rallied quickly. MALONE – The family of a lacrosse player from Franklin Academy is pursuing legal action against an Ogdensburg player who struck a Huskies player in the head with his stick, resulting in a concussion, during an April 20 match at Crowner Field in Malone.
