    (August 2, 2017) Akwesasne, Ontario – On August 1, 2017, the Akwesasne Mohawk Police Service (AMPS) conducted a traffic stop while on patrol on Kawehnoke. While police were speaking with the driver, he decided to flee on foot into a densely wooded area. A short foot pursuit ensued and a containment perimeter was set up by AMPS officers.
