    AKWESASNE. October 30, 2024. This afternoon, at approximately 5:20 PM, a fire broke out at the Akwesasne Boys and Girls Club’s main clubhouse located on Roosevelt Town Road. All children and staff were safely evacuated, with no injuries reported. Thanks are extended to the Hogansburg-Akwesasne Volunteer Fire Department (HAVFD) and Saint Regis Mohawk Tribal PD for their quick and dedicated response.     The Akwesasne Mohawk Police Service have arrested and charged a 14-year-old youth with aggravated assault stemming from an incident that occurred in the early evening of October 31, 2024. At approximately 7:30 PM, police received a report of a victim with a knife wound in the upper body area. The victim was in the area of First Street in Kana:takon (St. Regis).
