The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribal Council is in the process of drafting a Tribal Governance Ordinance. This Ordinance would replace the “Act relating to Tribal Council Powers, Procedures, Initiative Referendum, Recall and Removal from Office” commonly referred to as the 1994 Procedures Act. The Mohawk Council of Akwesasne’s Department of Health is notifying community members that a new parking lot is being constructed at the Kanonkwatsheri:io Health Facility in Kanatakon. Construction has begun and will continue to the end of January. The project will expand the existing parking lot located directly in front of Kanonkwatsheri:io’s main entrance.
