    New York State residents can register as organ donors through the newly-modernized New York State Donate Life Registry. According to the U.S. Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network, nearly 10,000 New Yorkers are among the 113,000 Americans currently awaiting an organ transplant.     The Mohawk Council of Akwesasne would like to inform the community that the Akwesasne Heating Assistance Program will once again be offered for the upcoming 2019-2020 winter months. The eligibility application process now includes Akwesasronon who are residing within the municipal boundary of the City of Cornwall, Ontario, provided the applicant is a registered member of the Mohawk Council of Akwesasne under the Akwesasne Membership Code.     This request for quotes (RFQ’s) is an invitation to prospective Mohawk businesses to submit quotes for the provision of snow plowing and sanding of the parking lot, shoveling and sanding/salting the sidewalks, porches and ramps at the CKON and Indian Time building.     Salmon River and Massena’s varsity volleyball teams came out the victors of all four of their games between Oct. 7 to 12. The Shamrocks shut out Gouverneur, Brushton-Moira and Madrid-Waddington.
