The St. Regis Recreation is inviting families to attend a kids holiday crafts day and gingerbread decorating contest. Last weekend the Salmon River Shamrocks hosted their annual Christmas Tournament at the Tom Cavanaugh Arena, sponsored by the North Franklin Hockey Association. Participating teams were Massena, Queensbury and McQuaid. My name is Erin Conners and I am the librarian at Salmon River. We had received a large donation of books from the Lion's Club in Malone. While many of the books have found a place on our shelves, some were damaged or out of date. Instead of throwing them away, I came up with the idea to create a Christmas Tree out of books. I spoke with the art teacher Jennifer Bacchus and she asked her sculpture students to design and create the tree. The tree is in the high school library and will be staying...
